Good driving posture involves sitting at a slightly more reclined angle than usual while still maintaining a neutral spine.

  1. Slide the seat backwards so that there is still a slight bend in your knees when you fully depress the pedals.
  2. Adjust the base of the seat to bring your hips up to make them more level with your knees.
  3. Recline the seat to about 20 degrees from vertical. (It is a myth that sitting vertically helps a sore back.)
Line drawing - good driving posture

Good car seat setup requires an open hip angle (1) and an open knee angle (2)

Line drawing - bad driving postue

This is bad driving posture because the hip angle (1) is too small, as is the knee angle (2)
